Asparagus has been used throughout history as an herbal medicine known for it’s anticancer, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory effects, as well as it’s diuretic properties. It should be noted, however, that the amino acid and mineral concentrations were highest in the leaves of asparagus, and not the shoots .
