You guys requested Italy pictures and a re-cap, so here it is!
Even I am envious of my adventures after looking back at these pictures! But I must remind myself (and you guys!) that I did endure a long-distance relationship across the world for 2 years. While our adventures were far and few between, these pictures capture the time my husband (fiancé at the time) spent traveling and eating around Europe during 2007 and 2008.
During my engagement, I am blessed enough to have traveled to:
Italy (Milan, Rome, Venice, Pisa, Cinque Terre, and other small cities)
Switzerland (just for shopping!)
France (Paris and Nice)
Greece (Athens and the islands of Poros, Hydra, and Aegina)
United Kingdom (London)
We lived in the first floor of this villa…
And ate our meals at this table…
…which were prepared in this kitchen…
The villa was in hiking distance of this waterfall…
And I walked this route to the gym each day…
And travel pictures in no particular order…
Greek Isles — had to take a picture with the bullbaby!
Pesto Calamari Tortellini (drooool!)
Paris, France — Eiffel Tower at Night 🙂
Gelato in Italy — I always got the “Viagra” flavor because I thought it was funny. I know, I’m soooo mature 🙂
Poros Island — a HUGE thumbs up to fresh seafood (even though I’m not a HUGE octopus fan!)
Switzerland outlet mall shopping — Gucci “Big Bird” jacket = 900 Euros (~1450 USD) – bargain! ..maybe to those who don’t shop at Target…
We used to go on runs together in Italy and hubby would always beat me. Sometimes, I came home to jugs of water and sweet notes in the entry way 😉
[I let him beat me!]
My love for mussels only grew into a PASSION!
Cruising to the Greek Isles on a perfect, sunny day!
I’m ashamed to admit that MY husband consumed pepperoni and FRENCH FRY pizza. Regardless of his pizza selections, Italian pizza is something everyone should savor at some point in life. Deeelicious!
Don’t judge…wine was cheaper than water! No lie! 😉
Nice, France in November…gorgeous!
Paris, France – Notre Dame Cathedral
Pisa, Italy – My buff, buff hubby! 😉
Venice, Italy – my favorite Italian city
I developed a love for photography though my skill is very minimal…
We also had our engagement pictures taken in Italy on top of Sacro Monte, a mountain in northern Italy. We lucked out in having such gorgeous, one-of-a-kind engagement pictures! 🙂
Ahhh….what a wonderful time it was! I can’t wait to get back over the pond someday! 🙂

Question: If you could travel just ONE place in the world RIGHT NOW, where would you choose to go?
How beautiful! I would love to visit each and every one of those places. You are a beautiful couple!
I lived in Italy when I was just 2 and 3 years old so sadly I don’t remember it. Those pictures are just an amazing story of your time there. Thank you so much for sharing!
Wow – those pictures are amazing!! I would love to go to Italy. But if I had to pick just one place it would without a doubt be Ireland. My family is Irish (we think, now there could be a chance we’re actually Scottish) so Ive always wanted to see Ireland.
What an amazing opportunity to live there – wow!! Such great pictures. That french fry pizza actually looks kinda good, haha! 😉 Thanks for sharing with us!! 🙂
pepperoni and french fry pizza- loL! when i was like 8 and first figuring out my way around the kitchen my prize creation was “hot dog pizza.” looking back…yuck. haha. such beautiful pics, lucky lady to see that part of the world!
So jealous of all your travels!
I have never been to any of those places and all of them are on my wish list for the future. If I could go anywhere though, it would be to Greece.
Oh my gosh! I am so jealous! Paris is my dream vacation! I will hopefully be fulfilling that dream in the near future (next year or so)! I am sooo ready! Your pictures are gorgeous! 🙂

Europe is wonderful 🙂 you guys definitely got to do a lot. Right now, I am most looking forward to coming home in Feb!! 😀
LOVED the recap!! Haha, I esp liked the picture in Pisa, where your dearest is “holding up” the leaning tower.
I’d love to go to Greece. And Spain. And New Zealand. Argh, I’ve got the wander lust now!
I loved seeing these pictures – so beautiful! (And you two seem like such a fun, happy couple!!!)
Beautiful pictures. Thanks for sharing!
I need that yellow coat in my life.
I love your engagement picture, very beautiful!
Love the pictures. I am so jealous I want to hop on a flight right now. The flights from this base do go to Italy so I should be able to get there soon. Hopefully our next base will be overseas. It was nice that you clould spend time with him over there even though you were doing the long distance thing. I decided to move with Ryan since I didn’t want our first year of marriage to be long distance, but I was at a point in my life where I could take a break from reality and do the overseas thing. I really love otehr cultures and travel and so this is the life for me. I think both Ryan and I got lucky…I don’t mind, in fact I prefer, overseas and travel and other cultures and foods, and so he gets someone who doesn’t mind and I get someone who’s job can take me all over the world. It’s like a win-win right now. Ah and I love the pic of yoru hubby in Pisa, totally buff! Almost looks photoshopped it was taken so perfectly!
Love the pictures, Italy is amazing 🙂
I would to ITALY! That’s where I would go. I’m so jealous, this trip looks amazing. You both look so madly in love and happy. Nick and I HAVE to go to Italy before we have children, that’s one of our goals. And it’s one that we WILL achieve! Of course, buying a house isn’t going to help that….oh well.
Have a great day!
That does sound like a wonderful time. Italy is like my #1 place to visit, and all those other places sound wonderful as well. Beautiful!
OMG THAT LEMON!! 😛 That sounds like a wonderful trip. I think everyone needs to do a big Europe tour like that at some point in their life. I did a small Western Europe on with the fam, but I’d lovelovelove to do Italy, Greece, Spain, Austria, Switzerland, the list goes on and on 😛
But, if I could travel anywhere right now, it would be Scotland. It’s at the top of my list!
Thanks SO much for taking the time to share these–what breathtaking sites and so many great memories! 🙂
One word….AWESOME! Thanks for the vacation, I needed it on the snowy housebound day!
Thank you so much for your incredibly sweet comment on my blog! You made my day! 🙂
Your photos are incredible! I’m in awe of your photography skills, and of course of your amazing experiences… The photos of you and your hubby are fabulous – y’all are gorgeous, girl! 🙂
OMG looks like an amazing time! I’ve been to a few of those places but I was 12 at the time. I’d love to go back and see how different they look now. Once place I really really want to go to is Australia. I have family there and it’s a place I’ve always wanted to travel to.
I remember seeing some of these on the knot.. but your trip looks like it was so wonderful! I’ve never been to Europe, but my soon-t0-be hubby and I have plans to travel after our wedding.
totally jealous of your adventure!
Wow Nicole, what an amazing experience! Your pictures are fantastic (I especially love that one looking up the Eiffel tower at night) and I can really tell how much fun you guys had! Also, I love that pic of your hubby holding up the tower of Pisa!
Thrilled that I just went on a virtual tour of Europe with you guys. Just what you would have needed…a third wheel. So awesome that you and your hubs got to experience Europe together. I love that little table that you had your meals outside the villa. I so want to go to Switzerland some day, to ski. I’ll try to track down that yellow fuzzy jacket!
Wow… GORGEOUS pictures! Thank you so much for sharing 😀
you guys rock what a fun time, adore all of those cities, travel is the best thing in the whole world
I totally would’ve gotten the Viagra flavor, too. 😉
WOW – what amazing pictures, and such a once-in-a lifetime opportunity! Honestly, if I could go anywhere right now, it would be Italy. I would love to see Venice, Rome, the Vatican (I’m Catholic), and just the countryside.
If I could only go to one place right now it would be to
San Francisco. I haven’t been there in 10 years and that’s where a lot of my family lives. I know I’m a sap so sue me …lol.
P.S.: Thanks for stopping by my blog. It’s probably still on your Q&A list but would still like to know whether I should toss the potassium out with the salt 🙂
HAHA I love the pic of the hubs holding up the Pisa lol, he is so strong! it must be because you are an RD and keep him healthy lol
That was one crazy looking lemon. I’ve never seen one so big or wrinkly!
You guys look like such a great couple! Europe is amazing. Your very lucky you got to explore so much of it. I hope to go back one day!
Your engagement pic is gorgeous! Actually all your photos are awesome…
Your post makes me miss Italy so much….
Thanks for sharing!
Oops! Somehow it commented on the wrong post! Call me blonde 😉
Anyways – I would love to go back to Barcelona or Cinque Terre in Italy. Your pictures had me thinking back to my couple of months in Europe. I couldn’t imagine how awesome it would be to have a couple years there. Wow! What a great experience. 🙂
You’re making me want to go back to Italy. What a wonderful opportunity to go live somewhere else. Love your pictures! Thanks for sharing!
I am totally jealous of these photos. I went to Italy once when I was eight and would LOVE to go back. I can’t believe you maintained such a long distance relationship for two years though. Good for you guys!
Great photos! I must say, I really like living in Switzerland because it’s perfectly located – you can get to so many amazing countries in such a short time! Next time you come over here you HAVE to stop by and say hi :).
Thanks for sharing your beautiful pictures! I have never been to Europe but I’m hoping to visit very soon 🙂
