Food Reviews and Amy's Coupon Giveaway!

fruits and vegetables

10 Feb

If I had to chose a fruit (other than a melon) to bowl with, I would choose a pomello.

3 hours, 13 minutes, and 42 seconds after beginning to peel the pomello, I found the fruit. The pomello is deceivingly not as large as it looks. After being peeled, it is roughly the size of a grapefruit…and 3-4x the cost of a grapefruit.

While delicious, the pomello was a bit laborious and spendy for my practical self. But, to each the own! I enjoyed trying it regardless ๐Ÿ˜‰

I have had some yummy eats lately that I’ve been saving up to share!

Amy’s Organic burritos! YUM! These burritos are delicious, quick, and highly nutritious — high in fiber, low in fat, and a good source of protein! Oh, and less than 300 calories each!

Thank you, Amy’s for sending some burritos to samples and coupons! ๐Ÿ™‚

Lifeway Organic Kefir!

Most yogurts on the market contain 1…maybe 2…possibly 3 live and active cultures to promote healthy gut bacteria. Kefir? 10 life and active cultures! 1 cup of low-fat Kefir contains 2 grams of fat, 125 mg. sodium, 3 grams of fiber, and 11 grams of protein! Kefir is thick and comes in delicious flavors like Pomegranate/Acai, Strawberry, Cherry, Blueberry, and Pomegranate! Yummm! Love Kefir!

Thank you, Kefir for the awesome samples!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

I love Amy’s soups. They have some great gluten-free options! I also had a gluten-free tortilla bowl that was really impressive. I’m not a big fan of frozen meals, but if I am going to have one, I will choose Amy’s without question.

Im torn for which Amy’s product is my favorite. The broccoli pot pie has always been the winner, but now I think its tied with the chunky tomato bisque.
Ive never been disappointed with anything they make though.

I’m not exactly sure, Suzi…but they sure taste the same. The pomello is a bit dryer, but other than that I didn’t see any real different in taste!

I think I’ve tackled one of those over skinned – over sized pomellos before. I was so disappointed because when I finally found the fruit, it was so dry! At that point, I decided never to challenge my love of grapefruits again.

I’ve never tried Kefir. Other than the nutrition/cultures that you pointed out, what makes it different from yogurt?

I’d love to try the burritos. My coworker just got hooked on Amy’s Indian meals. In the non-burrito land, I’d like to try some of her low-sodium options, and I also hear that as far as canned soups go, hers are worth trying… I’m always wary of canned soup though… so I think I’d stick with the burritos for now.

I have the best picture of my mom’s face the first time she (finally) opened a pomelo. It was priceless – the shock at the flesh to peel ratio.
