I have received several emails from readers wanting to know where the attempted magic of my cooking and baking takes place. I did not clean, organize, or rearrange anything. This is my kitchen in all it’s glory personality.
Our fridge is covered in a shrine of Lily, pretty much.
I want a gas stove — I hate the electric burners!!
The flavor cabinet…all the spices, sweeteners, and so on!
Pantry…some healthy…some not. You can tell what stuff is mine and which is Mr. Prevention’s 🙂
I told you I didn’t tidy up! But…safety first! We did register for a fire extinguisher for our wedding!
Small appliances that don’t fit on the counter: waffle maker, immersion blender, fondue set, hand mixer, crock pot, cheese marble, standard coffee pot, etc…
iPod dock and cappuccino/espresso machine — kitchen must-haves
Wine glasses, cappuccino cups, coffee mugs, vitamins, and a lot of unorganized Tupperware + Mr. Prevention’s candy stash on the top shelf. Out of reach sight…out of mind!
The inside of the fridge (I just went grocery shopping…)
Glassware + all the ugly plastic bar/sports cups I can’t get Mr. Prevention to part with. Oh, the beauty of marriage.
Lily posing by my most favorite kitchen essential: a hands-free trash can. Motion sensors open and close this baby for you. Love it!!
This set-up is in the base of our pub table. I love the extra wine and wine glass storage, though most of our wine is in our wine fridge…. 🙂
Love having a bar at my kitchen counter! Great for entertaining!
That’s my kitchen! 😀

I ran out of muffin liners and decided to try without. Bad move! 🙁 I was only able to salvage a few whole muffins. I’ll be making these again with the muffin liners so that I can enjoy them in one piece!
Question: What do you like/dislike about your kitchen? What is an absolute must-have in a kitchen?
I need plenty of counter space, and granite/marble counter tops is a huge plus! Someday, I want an island in my kitchen and hanging pot/pan storage from the ceiling!!
I love looking at other people’s kitchens. Is that weird? Maybe. Yours is quite homey…I would so feel comfortable cooking in it.
I’ve made the muffin liner mistake before. No matter how much cooking spray you put into the tins, they ALWAYS stick. At least they seem like they were tasty!
Wow! Your kitchen is beautiful!! Mine is an ugly, old shoe box!
Also, I looooove white dishes! I don’t think they’re boring at all! They’re classy, simple and elegant π
Thanks for the tour!
I LOVE THIS POST!!! What a great diversion. I need to do something like this. I feel like I learned so much about you through the eyes of your kitchen. Yes, a gas stove is essential. Grew up with electric and never understood how great gas was. Another essential (not in the kitchen but just outside) is our gas grill. Love those grilled flavors!
LOVE your kitchen!!
your cabinets look a lot like mine…overstuffed with essentials!
The one thing I hate about our kitchen (and i complain about it every single day!) is that we don’t have a pantry. My fiance designed the kitchen before I was in the picture, so of course a man wouldn’t think about having a pantry.
I’m hoping we can put one in this year!
I think a must have in the kitchen is a big sink and gas stove top. Couldn’t live without either one! (ok, slight exaggeration, but i love having both!)
ooh those muffins sound great, i’ve had some epic fails when going rogue and attempting them sans liners too. i now have these silicone muffin tins that are really awesome though! WOW your kitchen is very glorious! hands free trash can? score! i hate electric stoves too…
Your kitchen is beautiful!! Love the color of the wood and of course the countertops are gorgeous!! So luxurious that you have wine fridge too!! Thanks for letting us take a peek in your kitchen!! Happy Saturday!! π
Your kitchen is FAB!!! Love it! My favorite thing about my kitchen is our pantry. It is really big and so I never feel like I have to cram anything in it! π
Can I move in? Sigh, I always get kitchen envy when I see other kitchens and yours is a beauty!
I love that you added Poppy Seeds to the recipe!! I wanted to but had none. I had an inkling you would reduce the oil π lol!
Muffin liners are essential… I’ve made that same mistake and end up with only a couple of muffins π
Have a great weekend Nicole!
I dislike that I have to clean my kitchen π No fancy gadgets for me just stove, fridge and blender.
I love your kitchen. I miss my Vegas kitchen because ours is so small here. I need more space, but at least we found a place for everything. Thanks for sharing the pics of your “work space”.
I love your big kitchen! We live in a studio apartment so there is literally NO counter space in our tiny kitchen π
I LOVE your kitchen! And I think its so funny because I do the same thing. The outside appearance is super neat and orderly…but open the cabinets and there is a lot more chaos. LOL
I think I need a treadmill in my kitchen. That way I can bake, work out while it’s cooking, and refuel immediately
I’m with you on the electric stove. The past two apartments I’ve lived in had electric. I’m dying to go back to gas. I think it cooks more evenly. You have such great counter space. I have a major shortage, so I’m jealous.
I have kitchen envy, I too have horrible rotten sucky electric burners, I loathe them. But I also have a tiny kitchen. Before I moved in with my fiancΓ©, now husband I had a beautiful amazing kitchen, and I miss it it every day. Our next house will be purchased for the kitchen, the rest of the house is meaningless to me (oh and yard for 2 big dogs).
You have a lovely kitchen! Although, I know how it is living with an electric stove…switching from gas at my parents house to electric in my apartment is really disappointing! For me, a must have would definitely be a steamer basket to steam all my veggies. Did you try buttering the muffin tin? This usually works for me.
OMG I am so jealous! if I had that kitchen, I would be cooking and baking all day long! my kitchen is just a wall in my livingroom (sad panda)
I heart that lily poses for you! she is such a cutie…the other day I went to take koko to the groomer and they had two bulldog puppies, I seriously thought about stealing one and RUNNING!
Peter is drooling over your kitchen – all that space! All the appliances! Your kitchen is his dream kitchen π I love the Lily shrine!
I’ve definitely baked without the muffin liners, with similar results. Hey, muffin tops are tasty, right? π
thanks for the tour oh yeah like the espresso machine girlie have a great weekend
Your kitchen is beautiful!!!!!!!!!!! My dream kitchen pretty much!!!!
Love the tour!!! What a cool trash can, motion sensored, that rocks and your dog is so cute!! Yay your going to send me a pic for my post!!!
Oh muffins shmuffins!!! I have had that happen before to me too when I didn’t have liners!!!
They still were yum I bet!!
xoxo
I love your kitchen. I wish my counters were as de-cluttered as yours. My kitchen is way to small. I would love a bigger space.
Sorry about the muffins. That is why I choose not to bake, to many kitchen disasters.
I loved the glimpse inside your kitchen!
You know, I’ve NEVER used a muffin liner when making muffins or cupcakes, and I’ve not had a problem. I grease the pan with coconut oil…maybe that’s why?
Your kitchen is gorgeous, Nicole! I love the bar at your counter — I’ve always wanted one! π My pots and pans cupboard looks pretty much the same…no matter how many times I try to organize it, it always reverts back to its natural state of chaos. π
Your kitchen is so pretty! Love the dark wood cabinets. My only wish is that my kitchen was bigger. We remodeled it last summer and I love how it looks with the wood counter top, black subway tile and ginormous double apron silk, but definately more storage and counter space would be nice.
Bummer about thoes muffins π
I love that you shared your kitchen pics! I love the countertops. I can’t stand electric stoves either. Like many others… I would love more space in ours!
Love the kitchen–so nice and spacious! And that trash can!? I soooo want one! π Thanks for the fun little tour!
I hate my kitchen. It’s so small. Jason and I really can’t be in there at the same time without getting in each other’s way.
Oh my gosh…your kitchen is absolutely gorgeous! And I LOVE the cabinets. My dream is to one day have granite counters. And a huge island. And a double oven. Too much to ask? π
Where in the WORLD is that garbage can from? Must… register… for… NOW!!!! π
Very jealous of your spacious, gorgeous kitchen!
