Sophia of Burp and Slurp posted the entries to her “You Are What You Cook” challenge!! I was so excited to see all the entries, among my own, Prevention Seafood Tacos. The recipe had to be original and describe you! So fun! Check it out!
Kristen’s brother has the cutest little pup, Noah. He’s making a cameo appearance today on the blog (Lily approved this move, obviously). Isn’t he cuuuute? He has soooo much fun at the beach — it was gorgeous weather! 😀
We hung out all day on the beach of Galveston and headed out to a nice dinner late last night. I definitely got some sun, and that’s a very good thing!
Headed home after a 5K AIDS walk today! And then back to the regular scheduled program! Grocery shopping and a hungry husband await me back in Tulsa. I’m sure it’s been frozen pizza and cereal since I left. 😉
Question: Are you the type of person who can layout at the beach all day, or do you need some more excitement during your time away?
Don’t forget to spring forward!!! 😉
I definitely am fully capable of wasting the day away doing nothing. A beach would just be a new place for me to do it ๐
As much as I love the warm weather, I need to be active!
I used to love laying at the beach but now I get antsy ๐ Glad you are having such a blast!
I can read a book on the beach for a while but all I think about is “sun damage sun damage.” That’s how you get after 40. ๐ In general, I’d much rather be on a hike or in a kayak or doing something.
I love laying on the beach all day. The only reason I get up is the occasional walk on the beach, dip in the pool, and of course to eat, haha!! ๐
I can’t just lay there on the beach all day, but since I live near the beach now it is nice to sit down there and read. On vacations I need much more to stimulate my brain. It was tough to decide where to do the honeymoon because we are not lay out all day at the beach people. We went to Maui but we did a lot of the adventure activities there like snorkel and biking down the volcano and seeing shows and driving the hana highway. I am not even sure we actually laid out on the beach.
Oh, and I loved your dish that you made for Sophia’s challenge. It looked great and I loved that you had it represent the meaning of your name.
I saw your dish on Sophia’s page…it looked great!
Awwww he would make a great boyfriend for Lily.
I always like to mix it up on the beach. I like to relax with a book and listening to the ocean for a good bit, then go for a walk or play some sort of game or dig in the sand (yes I still like to do that LOL) for awhile too.
And whenever I am gone it is always cereal or frozen dinners for Peter too. He cooks better than me, but just won’t cook for himself!
I can do chunks of the day on the beach – but most of that is probably spent reading, talking, etc. rather than sunning and playing in the water. Probably no more than 2 days – need some activities.
I can lay on the beach ALL DAY LONG!!! A cold drink in my hand makes it even better ๐
I can lay around on the beach for about an hour before I need to get up and walk, play in the ocean, play frisbee or volleyball. We also usually set up horseshoes….as you can see we are BIG beach people. I love Galveston…but we have a condo on Padre Island…we are going again on May 15…tick tick tick…is it time yet?!? haha!
Im to ADD to layout on the beach all day. I can handle a few hours, but I need a really good book to get me through it.
I’m a lay on the beach kind of girl!! With a cocktail and a book too ๐
I also really love to just play in the water; love jumping waves!
As long as I bring reading material, sunblock, and water I can relax at the beach all day! ๐ I’m glad you’re enjoying your vacation, the weather looks gorgeous!
I stopped reading after *the beach* and started dreaming…
i need a little of both, some lying out and just relaxing (with proper SPF of course!) and some action! aww pup! i saw your eats featured on sophias blog, yay
ahh i need both!! i LOVE laying out and gettin tan! but i also love playing in the water, paddleball, etc
So jealous of your beach day! I can lay out all day with no other excitement than a good book. That’s actually how I prefer it. Now if I were in the Caribbean, I’d definitely do a lot of swimming.
I can only lay out for so long at the beach…I love going in the water and playing games in the sand!
I like to lay on the beach. But I definitely need a book or something.
Most of the time I don’t like laying around but when it’s on the sunny beach I can hang out there all day long. I’m a big fan of heat so sunshine makes me happy.
Sounds like a great weekend!! I have never been the type to lay out all day, as much as I’d love to be able to do it. I need to have some sort of stimulation, or my ADD will kick in! I just get so bored. I usually PLAN on laying out for a while, then come back in after 30 minutes, haha. I’m lucky I tan easily, or I’d be constantly pale, all year.
I loved your entry in Sophia’s challenge! I’ve never made fish tacos, but I had them in Australia and they are amazing =)
I’m so jealous! It’s been a 3 day monsoon in Boston where I am. Glad you’re enjoying the weather!
Oh how I miss the beach! I prefer a combination of straight up relaxing and laying on the beach, and some activity…especially as cliche as it sounds, “long walks on the beach”…so peaceful!
I love both relaxing on the beach and taking the whole area in by shopping, walking, eating, etc. A little of both is my ideal vacation!! And those seafood tacos sound delicious!
