I know I’m a bit obsessed over my Lily dog, but she’s my baby and always puts a smile on my face. 🙂 Mr. Prevention and I knew we wanted a bulldog YEARS before we got Lily. There was no doubt in anyone’s minds…this dog would be spoiled. Rotten.
We picked Lily up straight from the airport when we returned from our honeymoon last June. We knew the breeder and knew that Lily and her 6 sisters and 1 brother were in excellent hands. We went over several times to play with all the pups as they grew and our hearts belonged to Lily (who was named G’Dot at the time, standing for “Girl Dot” in reference to the dot on her head. Her brother also had a dot on his head and was appropriately referred to as B’Dot).

Note: I made one giant cake, cut it down the center length-wise and created 2 Bone Cakes by just cutting the shape with a knife. I think they’re cute 🙂
Doggie Bone Cake from Homecooked Em
1 1/2 cups flour
3 tbsp honey
1 mashed ripe banana
1 egg
1 1/3 cup water
tsp vanilla
1 tbsp baking powder
cinnamon
Directions:
Mix all ingredients and bake at 350 for about 15-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean! And the frosting was a mixture of cream cheese, mashed banana, and peanut butter!

My grandparents have a dog, which I consider mine because we’ve always rented places so the only acceptable pet was hamsters… haha. His name is Herman, and he’s a black cockapoo and a big baby. XD

I don’t have a pet. 🙁 My nephew is SO allergic (and my sister), his poor eyes swell up when he’s around dogs or cats even for a minute. It stinks (for him and me! LOL).

Lily is adorable. I love the picture of her half in the dog bed and half on the floor! I have a dog named Laverne- she’s a cockapoo (cocker-spaniel and poodle mix) and a cat named Clementine. They both live at my parents’ house but I visit often 🙂
Happy birthday Lily girl! Joe gives you a big lick :). I think I’ll treat my pup to that cake. We have 3 pets, Joe our dog, Stoner our cat and Snoopy our bunny. We got Stoner as a kitten so he’s the craziest cat, he’s like a dog it’s hilarious. Him and Joe play so rough all the time it’s the funniest thing.

I grew up with dogs, and my husband and I have both a dog (Shelby) and a cat (Roxie) now. I think I’ll always be more of a dog person (John and I like to joke around that Shelby is our favorite “child”) but Roxie is an awesome cat. I don’t know what I’d do without my furry friends!

I love my little zoo – 2 dogs, 2 cats – although I’ve said several times ‘the zoo is full.’ No more animals joining our clan. I’ve always been a dog person – the cats are more my husband, but now that we have them I love them lots and lots.

I love animals…I currently have two cats (who I often feature on the blog!), but there’s no doubt in my mind that I’ll be a dog owner someday.

To answer your questions, I don’t have a dog or cat but I’m more of a dog person. I have fish now. Only one, the plecostomus, really has a name — the stealth bomber.

She is too cute. I love the cakes you made for her. I have a dog named ginger and a cat named midnight. I am definitely a dog person. I was always terrified of cats, but when I found midnight under a dumpster abandoned by her mother, I fell in love with her. I had no idea what to do with a cat and she was so scared, so I took care of her for 4 months outside before I went away to school, then come home to visit and she was still there. She finally let me pick her up and I put her into the car and off to the vet we went. I have been more of a cat person since, but I guess I am mostly a fan of this cat specifically.
So freaking cute!!! I LOVE bulldogs and told my mom I wanted one for Christmas. Instead I got a calendar.
I have a cute kitty I had to leave in VA with a friend when I moved but right now I really really want a puppy! I want a puppy like normal people want children. But I travel for work so I have to hold off on puppy dreams until I have more time to devote to my little loved one. 🙁
