It’s so exciting that your garden is giving tomatoes already! (I live up north, lol.) It’s so rewarding to eat striaght from your garden. You’re in for a summer of garden goodies. ๐Ÿ™‚

Cute! S/he’s a beauty, too. ๐Ÿ™‚ My favorite is beefheart (in French, ‘coeur de boeuf’). Have a great Wednesday!

I just made salsa last night with roma tomatoes, lime juice, garlic powder, cilantro, and cumin. I didn’t have any onion or anything else, but it turned out really good! I do love cherry tomatoes best though.

Yay! I like all kinds pretty much, but I think the bigger ones taste better than the smaller ones, for some reason.

Your tomato looks awesome Nicole! So glad your garden is coming along great.
P.S. The working world is really kicking my butt. I have been getting up at 4:30 to get a workout in before my hour commute to work. All I can say to myself is welcome to the real world lol ๐Ÿ™‚

As a kid, I did not like tomatoes at all! What was I thinking? Now they are my favorite. I love roma, grape and cherry – basically any RED tomato works for me!!

Wow, that’s cool that you have tomatoes already! The weather out here has been soo weird; hot then rain, etc. The tomato fruit is there on the plants, but it just hasn’t colored up! Favorite tomato? Probably Roma or Beefsteak. I don’t always care for the little varieties.

grape and cherry tomatoes are by far my favorites. I think they pack the most flavor in their tiny little bodies!

I’m not a huge fan of tomatoes on their own – EXCEPT for cherry tomatoes!

Any tomato! I can hardly believe I use to hate them – ketchup only. Then Spain opened my eyes. I may have some tonight with feta and roasted red pepper!

My favorite are giant heirloom tomatoes. I don’t buy them often because they cost way too much, but when I do they’re amazing. My least favorite are cherry tomatoes because I hate the pop of juice and seeds you get when you bite into one. Plus, the inside flesh is my favorite part.

    Yay for a growing garden!

I love cherry tomatoes in winter, the only ones I can find with flavour, and also fresh off the plant and into my mouth still warm in summer. mmmmm My favourite are the heirlooms, I switch between Brandywine, Purple Cherokee and Green Zebra and I have them all planted ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh, that’s exciting! Tomatoes won’t come in here for awhile. I am eating up some yummy garden lettuce though. Can’t wait to have tomatoes to accompany it!

For a second I was like “how did she get all those greens so early in the season!”

Sadly, I tried a topsy turvy for my tomato plant and your grape tomato was my whole bounty of the summer!

Now I just buy them when they are cheap at the end of the summer!

My answer is simple: COOKED! I can only eat cooked tomatoes, or raw if they are in salsa and masked with tons of other fixings. I don’t know what it is about raw tomatoes, but I just can’t stomach them!

YAY for the tiny cherry tomato. I can’t wait until our garden starts to produce. At least I’m hoping it will! I like Roma tomatoes on pizza.

  23. May 19, 2010 / 7:28 pm

I love any type of tomato!!! Glad to hear your garden is producing produce!

  24. May 20, 2010 / 6:30 am

Looks great. That is what I call local produce! My fave tomato is probably roma, but I like heirloom too, I just don’t get them often.

  26. May 20, 2010 / 7:18 am

Cherry tomatoes are by far my fav!

I tried a kumato for the first time recently. It’s a brownish tomato that is bred to be less acidic. It tasted fine and my kids actually ate it so that’s a success. Otherwise, I like any tomato out of my garden (or a nearby garden)!

  28. May 24, 2010 / 10:14 pm

    I haven’t tried a tomato I didn’t like…yet.
