Blackberry Pickin'

No more than a mile from our home, there’s a blackberry farm. On my last trip to the grocery store I saw this sign:

I had to go.

And so I did 🙂

And they are soooo good!

Question: Have you ever picked fruit? Berries? Apples? Pumpkins?

Happy Saturday!

Omg, nothin better than big ol fresh picked blackberries!! Yum!!

I went apple picking a couple years ago and had a great time. I tried to go strawberry picking once, but the farm had already closed for the season when I got there. Now I really want to find a blackberry farm around here!!!!!!

I went apple picking a few years back up near NIU in DeKalb, Il. It was really fun and the apples were yummy ๐Ÿ™‚

Mmmm, nothing like freshly picked berries! I love picking fruit – apple picking is huge up here in Massachusetts, and I try to go every Autumn.

Love blackberries! Blackberries aren’t ripe here yet, but black raspberries are and we picked some last night. I also love strawberry picking this time of year.

I’ve never been picking for blackberries but once me and my cousins went strawberry picking! it was sooo much fun! my aunt told us to eat as many as we could during the pick so it was cheaper at the end to buy the ones in our basket! i think i felt a bit sick in the car on the way home!! xx

Ohh, assuming that your new place has a yard you can definitely plant blackberry bushes – just be careful as they will invade the space sound them if not carefully monitored. It’s great to just be able to step outside and eat some blackberries before dinner (as I’m discovering at my brother’s).

Yum!!! I went to a BIG blueberry farm one summer when I was visiting my aunt in Michigan. We also had a HUGE garden growing up and had strawberries, raspberries and blackberries in our backyard. It was great!

    These look beautiful!

I’ve picked up fresh fruit but not in the US. In Jordan, both my parents house and my-inlawsa have a small piece of land with fruit trees like peaches, pears, apples, plums, grape vines, and lemons. I just love picking, washing, and eating right away!

Hannah and I went to just about every “you pick ’em” when she was little – the last time was a few years ago 0ut near Woodstock and we went apple picking – still fun!

Last year I went raspberry and blueberry picking at a local farm.. No need to go anywhere to pick blackberries they are the biggest weed in the state of Washington, they are EVERYWHERE and I spend more time killing them than picking them ๐Ÿ˜› Your blackberries look great, how many made it home? The best is picking at an organic farm where you can eat them warm off the vine, okay now I’m drooling!

Love blackberries, that is so cool that you picked a ton! The only thing I have picked is morel mushrooms, they are available for a short time in may and we pick them in northern michigan. They are hard to find!

I’ve picked apples before and they were, hands down, the best apples that I’ve ever had. I also had peaches from the same place. I didn’t pick ’em but they were just as good as the apples.

Those are gorgous blackberries! We used to have raspberries in our back yard so I would pick them all the time – I would love to go to a place to pick them too!

You can’t get any fresher then that!

How fun! I bet they were 100x better than anything you can buy at the store!

I love going with the family to pick fruit. Surprisingly, I’ve never picked blackberries, other than a few in my backyard. That whole bucket looks so pretty…and tasty!

So much fun!!! I used to hate berry-picking because my grandfather is a farmer and I’d help pick strawberries over the summer…it was back-breaking work in intense heat – not fun! But now that I can just do it leisurely, I love picking berries of all sorts. ๐Ÿ™‚
