Ode to Clementines from Google
How I love your juiciness.
Tiny and compact.
I put you in my purse,
for when I want a snack.
Eight to ten pieces per,
and not so hard to peel.
Though you stain my thumbs orange,
love for you I will always feel.
I know, I’m a nerd. But I thought it was cute…and totally appropriate. Especially for me — I kid you not, in my purse you can find 2 clementines. Right. Now. They travel well and I ate the rest…there were 5 😉
Clementines, the smallest member of the mandarin family, are in season come November and December. Enjoy these 35-calorie, easy-to-peel, seedless, sweet slices of heaven! They’re a nice break from the heavier squashes and potatoes of the winter months, when apples are on their way out and most other fruits are fair at best.
Question: Do you love clementines, too? 😉
Off to Columbus…hopefully in time for my hockey game…and then grocery shopping! Lots of good stuff on the menu this week…watch ouuut!!!
Ode to the clementine,
I love clementines!
Hi Nicole! Now you have me wondering what to do with tasty clementines. Love your little poem! Funny how they are a winter fruit when you would think of them as being the perfect summer treat! xo
I love clementine’s! I was rather disappointed though, that the first ones I bought a couple of weeks ago, weren’t as good as I’ve had them in the past. I’m hoping that the next ones I buy will be better.
I’ve been enjoying huge pink grapefruits recently, too. I love citrus in the colder months!
I love clementines! I’ve been waiting to find them at the store. I’ll have to keep my eyes pealed.
I love clementines! Sometimes I like them even better than oranges! ๐
Ahah, I loved this! Super cute Nicole! Reminds me of something I would make up for the heck of it. Clementines are one of winter’s little joys.
Mmmm clementines are so tasty! I like to pre-peel them at home and put into a smaller container to carry around with me. Makes a great snack on-the-go. ๐
This is adorable! I’m a clementine lover too! ๐
I love them too! And the weird thing is, I am not very fond of oranges…but clementines….love!
I am going to have to give them a try. I don’t think I’ve ever eaten one & I’ve had some crummy, dried out oranges lately too. Putting them on my shopping list!
We love clementines! We just picked the first one off of our tree ๐ http://inspiredrd.com/2010/11/our-first-clementine.html
Just bought some today ๐ My kids love them!
I love clementines–I bought a huge box 2 weeks ago! Cute poem too ๐
This cracked me up because I was just thinking about how I can’t wait for the big cheap boxes of clementines to come back at Costco the other day – I love them too ๐
