2nd Annual Prevention Chili Contest!

You read that right…chili contest! While summer is still in full swing, football season is quickly approaching! The count down is under 30 days until college football season begins! Go Illini!

Last year, I made a new chili recipe for all 12 Illini regular season games. You can read all about last year’s winning recipe: Turkey and Black Bean Chili!

With lots of upcoming fall weddings and travel, as well as changes to my work schedule that will require a few Saturdays at the clinic each month, I have scaled back this year’s Chili Contest to SEVEN entries.

If you have an amazing chili recipe (that’s relatively healthy), email it to me at [email protected]! I will accept the first 7 entries I receive.

Last year was a blast and I look forward to trying your best chili recipe this year, all while celebrating Illini victories (let’s hope 😉 )!

In other news, my mom (“Ma Prevention”) very much so wanted to be on the blog today. I snapped a few shots from yesterday while we wandered around the city goofing off 😀

We did lots of walking and it was a fun way to spend a gorgeous summer day 🙂

Send in your chili recipes and TGIF! Enjoy the weekend!

I wish I Had a wonderful chili recipe to submit!! But, I don’t. In fact, the only chili I have made was one that I made with leftovers and a bunch of beans and canned tomatoes. I threw it together in a bowl and popped it in the microwave. ha!

I hope you’re enjoying your weekend with the rents! “Ma and Pa Prevention”, I love it.

Hi Nicole. LOVE the pictures! Hi Ma and Pa Prevention!!! ๐Ÿ™‚ Great idea on the chili contest. Can’t wait to see which recipes people submit! (I worked for a charity some years back, and had to judge a chili cookoff…..we ended up trying 16 different chilis that afternoon. It was fun, but hoo weee, did I ever had indigestion for a good day or so afterward!) Have a great Friday.

The “Go Illini” peeked my interest! Did you attend U of I?? Champaign-Urbana is my hometown, and my daughters still live there. My oldest granddaughter will be a junior at U of I this Fall. What a small world. ๐Ÿ™‚

I love chili and have been making it for over 45yrs! Not too sure that my recipe is contest worthy though. ๐Ÿ™‚

I did! Husband and I both — we actually met for the first time on Green Street! My in-laws are in the area still and husband was born and raised in CU – very small world, indeed! Go Illini!!
