There’s officially 27 days until the first Illini football game of the 2012 season. If you were around this time last year, or the year before, you know how this goes. The Prevention’s…we love our chili and our football. Saturdays in this house are all very alike. Hopefully, this season will be a bit different in that we will win games…a lot of games, ideally. New coach, though…we’ll see!
If you have a chili recipe (on the healthy side, of course) that you think is better than the rest, please submit your recipe via email (preventionrd at gmail dot com)! I will be accepting the first 8 entries (repeat entries from previous years will not be accepted) that will be made throughout the 12-game season. A winner will be announced at the end of the contest and awarded a $100 Visa gift card!
(And no, you don’t need a blog to enter!)
A huge congrats to Christine for her Chili recipe which won last year’s contest and Stacey the year before with her Turkey and Black Bean Chili!
This is my first fall as a regular reader (happy blog-reading anniversary to me, I think!), and this sounds like so much fun! I don’t have a great chili recipe, but I can’t wait to see the ones that are submitted! And…I’m a University of Virginia fan, so here’s hoping to a more CONSISTENT season for the Cavs 🙂
I love when you do this. I think I’ve tried all the chili recipes that make it in.
I’m looking forward to the chili contest. I’ve collected hundreds of chili recipes. 🙂
And, I say…..BRING THE CHEF BACK!!!
I started reading your blog last winter, so I am really excited for this fall! I love chili. Hoping for some ground turkey chili recipes.
I’ve been going through your blog and I love all of your recipes (as you can tell that I’m on page 70 or so from your archives haha)! I also like how you put the nutrition information at the end of each recipe. I don’t normally find that on other blogs. Of course I had to stop and comment on the post with the Illini Chief!! I love it when I randomly find Illinois alum! GO FIGHTING ILLINI! Love the blog!
Wooo! Thanks, Arleen! I hope you found lots of winning recipes. 🙂 GO ILLINI!!!! 🙂
