Mark walked in the house tonight and half jokingly said, “Thank you for raising our family.” I appreciated the recognition because as of late, I really do feel like I’m doing…a lot…while his work travel is surging and he’s working longer work days. It just seems like complete and total chaos lately.
Highlights of the week?
Shea failed her vision screening with the local health department who provided free screenings at her school. She’ll be needing to see the optometrist.
Lily has had trouble holding her bladder until Mee-Mee arrives at 3pm each day, so that’s been fun (sarcasm).
Mee-Mee told us she’s moving back to Colorado so we’re losing the most amazing nanny everrrrrrrrrr. At this point, I’m not even sure I’m going to try to replace her…she’s that good.
Mark sold off our last last jet ski so we’re officially just beach-goers. Thank heavens.
One of our rental properties has a leak in the roof and the soonest we could find someone to repair it was next week.
I’m tired and cranky because morning workouts are tough…and because Lily doesn’t sleep through the night (needs a potty break) and when Mark’s traveling, there’s no one to nudge in the middle of the night to share the duty with. We love her so much, but….TIRED.
The girls had a photoshoot mini that had gotten rescheduled from last Saturday to yesterday evening. Piper refused to wear the cute floral headband I bought. I also didn’t have the girls try on the dresses I’d ordered until the day before so I had to overnight a dress for Piper and run home to grab it after work and before the 5pm photo shoot.
I had an eye appointment this week and my vision isn’t what I was hoping it would be at this stage (I had my PRK enhancement on 4/27).
I scheduled a pediatrician appointment for Shea to rule out a UTI. Her little accidents are increasingly becoming an issue and I can’t seem to find anything to help lessen the frequency of accidents. I think I had her change her panties SIX times today…which spurred me finally calling for an appointment. They don’t think it’s a UTI and so I’m officially at a loss.
And I can’t whine too much as it’s entirely self-inflicted, but the leadership cohort I’m in at work has me in a constant state of catch-up. There’s so much assigned reading and so many writing assignments. The to-do’s just build up and build up.
AND…the forecast says rain all weekend. WHYYYY!?
Mark just headed off to the casino with his buddy so I decided to order Chinese food delivery and relax on the couch. PERFECTION. However, once our master bath is remodeled, I envision being in the TUB! We should start the remodel on June 25th – eeek!

When it rains it pours! Doesn’t it feel good to just vent sometimes? I’d been holding a bunch of unhappiness about my job in and finally just word vomited to my husband the other night, and it felt wonderful! Hope you have a good weekend, despite this weather!
