Serves: 12 cups

Ingredients
  • 1 lb 93% lean ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, seeded and chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 Tbsp chili powder
  • 2 Tbsp ancho chili powder
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 4 (15 oz) cans no salt added beans (variety/combo of choice), drained and rinsed
  • 1 (12 oz) bottle chile sauce
  • 1 (14 oz) can low-sodium beef broth
  • 1 (12 oz) Guinness beer
Instructions
  1. In a large, nonstick pot over medium-high heat, brown the meat until no longer pink, breaking up with a wooden spoon.
  2. Add the onion, bell pepper, and garlic; stir and cook for about 3 minutes. Reduce the heat to medium, and season with Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, cumin and oregano. Allow to cook an additional 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Reduce heat to low, stir in the beans, chili sauce, beef broth, and beer. Cover, and simmer for about 35 minutes. Serve hot.
Notes
The original recipe is from Katie D.
I did use 1 lb ground beef vs. ½ lb and used 2 cans of black beans, 1 can of chili beans, and 1 can of pinto beans for the beans
