My husband travels almost every week for work and I honestly find the weeks when he's gone I'm much more relaxed and in a better state of mind. I had a realization this weekend I think it's because when he's gone during the week it's our normal routine and I know I'm the only person who is around to get it all done. It just has to be this way and in order to stay afloat a, b, c have to get checked off the list by ME. On the days he's home I think I'm going to get some sort of reprieve and help with certain situations and if I don't I get all bent out of shape. Things don't flow smoothly and I'm a mess every night at dinner along with my daughter.
Perhaps that is why when you husband was out of the country your nights were more of a positive experience? I love reading about your adventures and I am extremely jealous your daughter will eat pretty much anything :) If my daughter doesn't recognize the food it's almost impossible to get her to sample it. If I pair it with a well-liked item my chances are a little greater. I know it's just her season of control :)
