In reply to Nicole Morrissey. You are most welcome! Nicole! The Road to Hana is so pretty. If you can't do twisty turny driving/riding I would pass on that! Also in Makawao there is a shop you can get hand blown glass. So pretty.

Joan, thank you so much for the recommendations! We are going without kids! I can’t imagine the cost with kids!!! Maybe some day when they’re old enough to appreciate it! Wrote down all your suggestions – thank you again! 🙂

Ah, Maui! You didn’t say if this was a family trip or an adult only visit.
The Road to Han is beautiful. Lots of twists and turns making it a longer trip than you would think. Lots of spots to pull over, have a bite to eat, take pictures. The General store is a fun spot to get a cool drink for the road and a mug or T-shirt to prove you made the ride! If you go further you will find Charles Lindbergh’s grave.
One of our favorite places to eat is in the upcountry – The Halimaile General Store in Makawao. Food is great and I am partial to the Lilikoi (passion fruit) margarita.
Of course Lahaina Town is fun to walk around an do some shopping.. There are good restaurants there too.
