The garden has made some big strides in the past few weeks. Here’s an update!
I spy a zucchini…you?
Zucchini, tomatoes, and bell peppers are all in bloom and growing…ripeness awaits! The eggplant…well, we’ll see. I’m not holding my breath on that one.
And as for the herbs, my cilantro is actually thriving!! And all the other herbs are alive and well. That’s huge for me 😀
Be green,
Love these pictures! Our little patch is not quite so far along (wet, cold spring), but we’ve also got peppers & eggplant going.
Nice work on the herbs, as well. Are you growing mint? It’s pretty indestructible.

I almost had coffee shot out my nose, I love that question! That is the ONE herb I’m not growing and it’s funny because now all I hear is how I wouldn’t be able to kill it ๐ I need to remember that next year!
Nicely done on the peppers! That was always the one that didn’t do well in ours when I was growing up. We’d be lucky to get a few…

I think bell peppers and the Midwest don’t get along too well ๐
I love garden photos! I’ve always thought it’d be cool to photograph one plant from start to finish…I didn’t get to that yet this summer haha, but one day! Glad to hear you veggies are doing great. My cilantro is all seeded over, aka, too strong to eat. But my basil is finally kicking in. Eggplant is exciting too!

I think I heard you’re supposed to trim cilantro so it doesn’t go to seed. Is that what you’ve heard? I’ve just been trimming the heck out of mine and so far so good, it seems.
Yes, I have heard that, kind of like snipping the flowers from basil to keep the plants going. But I know basil tends to get stronger regardless with the heat.
Jealous!!!! I can’t wait to have a garden…but we’re going to have to stop traveling so much in the summer first!
Everything looks so awesome! I have lots of flowers on my tomato plants but no fruit yet, and a few peppers…and my herbs are all doing well. I guess that there is a silver lining to all the rain and cooler weather we keep getting. lol Glad to hear the cilantro is doing well…that is the only herb I have not ever had much success with. ๐

I’ve heard cilantro is very fickle. It’s been loving the milder, wet weather…so it’ll be interesting to see what it does here with a dry heat wave!
I am so jealous of your garden! it looks amazing. I’m also impressed that you can keep all those plants alive. I can’t even grow herbs.

Here’s a lil secret: herbs are WAY harder than veggies. Don’t let anyone fool you ๐ I kill basil like it’s my job.
I hope you make something out of your zucchini flowers…stuff them and you can do your fake bake method to change it up?? Can’t wait to see what you do with them. Beautiful garden!

I saw fried zucchini flowers in Bon Appetit this month. I am verry tempted! With the number I have, I don’t think I’ll be able to use the zucchini at the rate they’re producing, so that sounds like the perfect solution. Thanks!
I love vegetable garden photos. Wow your green peppers are awesome! We have two bell pepper plants and they have flowers but no peppers and it’s the same for our zucchini right now too. I can’t wait for results ๐

Flowers are always a good sign, though…they’re a-comin’!
HI Nicole. LOVE the garden photos. You are going to have quite the harvest. Have a wonderful long weekend.
it seems like you have a green thumb =) great job
How cute is your pepper! Love them.
I really need to try and get a garden going. Yours looks great.
How cool! Hope you get to enjoy the fruits of your labor soon ๐
Great pictures of your garden. Mine is doing well this season. We had lots of rain last week and it went on a growing spurt. I’ve already picked lots of squash (zucchini, yellow straight-neck, and spaghetti) and peppers (green and poblano), I’ve got some beautiful purple bells as well. I will photograph them for my blog soon. I just discovered your blog and plan on following your gardens progress, and your garden recipes. ๐
