Garden Update!

Good morning! Man, I wish every day were my blogiversary…you all gave me warm fuzzies yesterday…all day! Thank you! 😀 Best…readers…ever! Muah! And if you weren’t around yesterday, you have until tomorrow at 10pm EST to enter to win one of 4 Stevia packages, one of 3 doughnut pans, one of 4 Larabar winners, or a food scale!

Anyway…I have failed to give garden updates, but all is well in my terra cotta empire! The final round up includes cherry and roma tomatoes, zucchini, eggplant, and bell peppers. As for herbs, we planted those in our landscaping in the back of our yard and. I planted 2 basil plants, 2 thyme plants, dill, cilantro, Italian parsley, sage, rosemary, and oregano.

Here’s some shots! They’re actually about a week old now, but things are BOOMING!

In addition to a garden update, I wanted to give an update on Lighten Up, the weight management program my private practice is offering. We have 10 ladies enrolled and Tuesday was our first session. It…was…amazing! These women are phenomenal. And, so many of them are interested in healthy cooking. So much so that next week, we’re meeting at one of their homes for a cooking class! I’m pumped!

As we closed the session, the women shared a goal for the week. So many of them made the goal to exercise more. After returning home for the night, Donna, my business partner, texted me and said, “I’m out shooting hoops — the women inspire me!” And I texted back, “I just said no to Mark’s pizza offer and am going to run now!” 😀 One thing I love about my job is the constant motivation to be healthier…while helping others. Needless to say, we are so excited to bond with these women and make major strides in health and weight loss.

I feel the exact same way as you! I LOVE the fact that we motivate others but in turn motivate ourselves. It’s such a wonderful feeling! I love being a dietitian!

Looks like your little garden is thriving! I can’t wait to see the product of all that hard work. Right now the only thing in my garden that’s ready to go is the basil we transplanted. That stuff grows like weeds.

I can not wait until I can have a vegetable garden. Hopefully I can keep it alive . . . after all my failures growing herbs Im not so sure anymore. ๐Ÿ™‚

I think its so wonderful how much you love your job. I REALLY needed to read that today – its just that extra little reminder that going back to school is absolutely the right thing to do.

What I love most about my job is the laid back atmosphere. As long as you get your work done, everyone is pretty much good.

I’m not working right now, because I just relocated, but my favorite part of my last job was counseling other students about studying abroad and traveling, because I am so passionate about it.

We do a cooking class at the hospital where I work and it is my fav day every month! Great food + cooking and getting paid for it! Love, love, love. I wish that every RD could teach a cooking class. ๐Ÿ™‚

I love my job as a dietitian in a non-traditional public health role. I get to work with communities to help build capacity, slowly reduce health inequalities and engage youth. I love creating new collaborations and having the autonomy to manage programs.

Thanks! It’s really cool. I just started in the position about 6 months ago, and it’s been busy (but exciting). Nice change for me from the clinical position I previously held.

Wow look at how GREEN those plants are! Beautiful lives!

I love my job right now because I get to work with incredibly smart people and talk to so many different people about different topics. I’m always learning and I love that.
