TGIF! Happy Memorial Day weekend!
Mr. Prevention and I are off celebrating a 4-day weekend in Michigan and Chicago. Lily, too! I wish I could say we got great sleep with Madame Snore Bear around, but no such luck. She shook the walls of our oh-so-classy hotel room that allows dogs. She is anxiously awaiting reacquainting herself with my parent’s furniture…the only furniture she’s allowed to be on. And oh, does she ever remember that fun fact. Lily at her “grandparent’s” in Chicago is like watching basketball lovers in front of the TV during March Madness. They…don’t…move.
Whether it be for happy hour tonight, or to cool off in the predicted 90+ degree Midwest heat that is predicted this weekend, these Grapefruit Margaritas are one delicious suggestion for you!
While Lily is holding down the furniture, I imagine Mr. P, my brother, my parents, and I will be holding down lawn chairs sipping on an adult beverage. A hot, holiday weekend? Oh yeah.
When I shook these up recently during a Saturday night in, Mr. Prevention eyed me from a distance and asked, “Why can’t you just make a normal margarita?”And by “normal” he means so sweet with sugar it hurts your teeth and quite possibly may be stripping the enamel off your teeth right before your eyes. By “normal” he means from a bottle with no real limes in sight.
Pathetic.
It probably goes without saying that he loved these, right? Pretty hard not to!

Be well,
I try to make a habit out of not drinking any of my calories (sodas, alcohol,…) but this is absolutely a drink I would splurge on – can’t wait to try it!
One of my favorite margaritas of all time! So delicious. Love those glasses too, girl. Hope you have a great Memorial Day weekend!
Yum! I hate super sweet cocktails. This one sounds super refreshing.
oh my – grapefruit and tequila are two of my favorite things, so this looks like the perfect margarita!

Have a fabulous weekend. I know Lilly will! ๐
Oh, these look like summer in a glass. And refreshing enough to cut through the nasty humidity we’ve got recently. Beautiful photos, Nicole!
Love a good marg!!! Grapefruit marg?? Don’t mind if I do!! Have a great weekend!!
I love those glasses! And, um, what’s in them! Have a safe trip home – now that you’ll be closer to Oak Park – we WILL meet one of these days!
Have a fun weekend!
LOVE the colors!
Lately I’ve really been loving the citrus-y desserts, so I might have to give this a try. I wonder how it would taste as a virgin cocktail…
Have a great Memorial Day weekend, Nicole! Love the recipe round-up! ๐
I actually make these all the time, and love the grapefruit juice in the margarita! I think it started as a I-want-a-margarita and some grapefruit juice in the fridge! So good! I love the little grapefuit piece you have floating in the glass … so pretty!
I’m thankful I have a dog that doesn’t snore, but when I was sick last week I was the one who was shaking the room.
