What’s a little funny about Fridays is that they’re generally a complete letdown. I’m the person who wishes all week for it to be Friday and when Friday evening rolls around, I’m doing nothing note-worthy, thinking, “Why did I want it to be Friday so badly again?” Pathetic, I tell you. Mr. Prevention and I then go on to banter back and forth on what we’ll do for dinner. Do we want to go somewhere new? Stay close or drive a ways? Order take-out? Pop some leftovers in the microwave and call it a night? These, people, are the problems of an adult couple without children. #lame
Last Friday evening, however, I walked in the door to find Mr. Prevention setting up our kitchen island ever so purposefully with a bunch of ingredients and my cookbook open to page 17, Fresh Grilled Salsa – perhaps his most favorite recipe.
“What are you doing?” I asked.
“I’m making a video blog. You need to go outside so I can do my thang.” he said. (And yes, he said ‘thang’.)
I was banished to the porch with my laptop and sipped on a beer while he did his thang. I came in to a mess of a kitchen, a salsa that has no resemblance of the one in the cookbook, and these videos. When Mr. Prevention indicates that you should follow the recipe…listen to him. As endearing as these videos are, I do believe he should leave the cooking creativity to…anyone other than himself.
Enjoy!
Diabetes Cooking Class today! 😀
Be well,
Oh I LOVE MARK! Seriously, great video!! Nick wouldn’t do this in a million years, good for MArk. I love how he was thrifty and used things from the kitchen that was already on hand (and your garden, of course).
Nice job!
I absolutely love that Mr. Prevention made these videos, and he seemed so excited about it too! He definitely chose a great recipe. Once my tomatoes start turning red and my jalapeΓ±os get a bit bigger, I will be giving this a try!
OMG…love this Nicole. Love that he made Biz’s famous salsa. Can’t wait to get my hands on a copy of your book! xxoo
way to go Mr. Prevention π
Haha, this is so awesome. I love that he did this. What a man!
I kind of figured Mr. Prevention might be a Whirlpool man with all your KitchenAid appliances π
L O V E D the video, but it did look kind of gross! No offense Mr. Prevention, I think I’ll follow Nicole’s recipe π
However, I do think you need to make more of these video’s…it’s super sweet how proud you are of your wife’s new cookbook β₯
P.S. We buy the same chips! I get them from amazon.com with subscribe and save and they are just a bit over $3 a 16 oz bag π Imagine the joy you’ll have when you see a whole case of them in your pantry π
Love it!! And thanks for the shout out Mr. P.!! The videos are great – thanks for sharing!
Haha, this is adorable…such a supportive husband you’ve got! Regardless of whether the recipe turned out, thumbs up to the videos. π
What a sweetheart! That’s adorable that he banished you from the kitchen to make these videos. So happy for you that you have a supportive husband! π
Love it, what a great job he did!
Way to go Mr. P!
This was thoroughly entertaining! Tip for you, Mr. P., I think you meant pottED plants, not your pot plant! Gave me a chuckle there. π
HA-HA this was adorable!. He is more talented then my boyfriend though. This past weekend he went to go make Buffalo Chix Dip and realized as he was transferring the mix to the baking dish he forgot to take the paper out of the Fage Greek Yogurt so it was in the dip lol….
Good job Mr. P. Ma & Pa Prevention thoroughly enjoyed your step by step salsa. I think your next video should be on your favorite pizza.
Well that was just adorable.
