When is a dog no longer a puppy? Just curious.
Here’s my pup with her silly e-collar on…poor pooch!
Anyways, in light of Lily’s recent eye surgery (as though she or I needed an excuse), I made her some special dog treats. Not only do they contain pumpkin, but I even made a treat shaped like a pumpkin…!
And like a spider….
And, of course, like dog bones…
The rest are all just little squares. I promise, I don’t have that much time to waste in a day 😉
Peanut Butter and Pumpkin Dog Treats from The Nifty Foodie and originally AllRecipes
2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
2 eggs
1/2 cup canned pumpkin
2 tablespoons peanut butter
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350° F.
Whisk together the flour, eggs, pumpkin, peanut butter, salt, and cinnamon in a bowl. Add water as needed to help make the dough workable, but the dough should be dry and stiff. Roll the dough into a 1/2-inch-thick roll. Cut into 1/2-inch pieces and place onto parchment paper lining a baking sheet.
Bake in preheated oven until hard, about 40 minutes.
And…gone!
Question: What foods make YOU feel better when you aren’t feeling your best?
TLC,
This is adorable Nicole! Lily is one lucky doggie that deserves to be spoiled! I am so making these for my dogs!
Aww, poor Lily. I’m sure she LOVED these treats though!
This may sound cliche, but soup always does the trick. Panera soup in a bread bowl is even better. ๐
Awww, she’s beautiful even with her donut!! These dog treats are so cute!
You are the best doggie’s mama ever!! Those treats are so sweet!! ๐ I need to make them for my fur children!!
Poor Lily!
I do love the treats you made her! And I totally call all dogs “puppies.” Weird, right?
Poor Lilly! Your are such a good doggie mama! ๐
That photo is at once hilarious and sad. Poor thing.
It’s the cone of shame! (Have you seen the movie UP?)
That’s so nice of you to make her little treats.
Lily’s not spoiled at all ๐ Those treats sound pretty good, think she’ll share?!
Did you sample one of those? They sound human edible, and possibly tasty? Hah. Either way, I’m sure Lily enjoyed them!
Oh my gosh, I’ve never seen collars like that?! Poor Lily!! I hope she feels 100% soon….she is lucky to have a sweet fur mommy like you! Anything pumpkin always makes me feel better, too. Or ice cream….not gonna lie. ๐
what? no nutritional info? LOL awe…poor baby. I think dogs will always be puppies to their human mommies and daddies! I know mine still is….and she is almost 3 yrs old! Some days, no lie, love her more than my kids! haha I am so going to make these for my pup! thanks!
Did you try one? They sound pretty tasty
I’ve frequently impressed with your kitchen exploits but now I’m really impressed.
Soup definitely makes me feel better when I’m ailing. One time, I wasn’t feeling so hot and my friend delivered an awesome care package with pajamas, a Vosges chocolate bar with grey sea salt and smoked almonds…
I can’t remember what else was in the package but just the fact that my friend made a special package for me was enough to make me feel better.
Nice recipe, lily is really lucky …
Aww poor baby!
I didn’t realize that dogs can eat pumpkin…now I’m totally baking some of these for my puppy!
Poor Lily!! Hopefully the treats will make things better. I’ll have to make these for Whatley–he loves pumpkin (well, everything really)!
