I'm from southern Illinois a home of a nationally know BBQ smoke house, as well as a lot of great back yard pit masters. I moved to Chicago about a year ago and have been trying to find something that matches the BBQ I'm used to, and have yet to find it. With living in an apartment up here I can't use a smoker to do it at home, so once I saw this recipe I bookmarked it immediately and just tried it out. Tastes very authentic even without being smoked so thank you for giving me a taste of home!

Out of all the meat dishes that I miss it has to be pulled pork! Mmmm... Makes my mouth water! :) When I made it I used to put pineapples and Kona beer in it. It was pulled pork with a Hawaiian twist. By the way I love the picture of all the spices in the bowl!

I dislike handling raw meat, too...but because the result is usually super delicious, I endure it for a few minutes. ;-)
I can't wait to hear about the bacon coleslaw! It sounds like the perfect complement to this hunky, porky dish.

If you're gonna make pulled pork, then crockpot is DEFINITELY the way to go! I like to make it with a pork tenderloin so it's super lean but still super delicious!

This recipe sounds delish...as does your Thanksgiving dinner. One of my favorite meals of the year!
