A year ago today…

Shea Collage 3 months

A year ago today, we had our IUI appointment where our daughter was conceived (you can read the whole story here). This time last year, I was losing hope and wanted nothing more than to be a mother. Today, I have a 14 1/2 week-old, perfectly healthy baby girl that melts my heart into a puddle of unconditional love every single day. We are so very fortunate.

Mr. P and I tried for 13 months to get pregnant. So many people told me to just “relax and it will happen” or any number of untrue “tricks of the trade”. I never wanted to hear any of it. I just wanted someone to listen to my sadness – not try to fix it. Every couple is different and every journey with infertility is its own. It simply makes me all the more grateful for my little girl and makes January 17th a date I’ll always celebrate.

P.S. Like the new blog look? A huge thanks to Robin at Grits Design!

Be well,
