Happy 2022! 15 Must-Make Recipes from 2021!

How are you ringing in the new year? I’ll be in my jammies, most certainly without make-up or a bra. Yay, quarantine! I mean, could we exit 2021 any more appropriately? We’re mostly healthy and mostly happy – thankful for all of that! Stay safe, friends. Shiz is hitting the fan, it seems.

I made my first reel on Instagram yesterday. Y’all, it won’t be my last. That was fun.

Since there’s…nothing…on the agenda today, I’ll make another reel. Likely of 2021 favorite recipes. Total spoiler alert, I’m sorry!

This year was a good one and certainly a tasty one. Per usual, there was ample buffalo chicken everything going on. I tried some Instant Pot winners. And I made all the goods at Christmas time, including Paula Deen’s cinnamon rolls. So. Much. Butter.

I fell in love with bourbon. I still love IPAs.

My crew loves cucumbers, cherries, and grapefruit the mostest. My children are increasingly difficult to feed and our evenings slip by faster with every passing day. Meaning, dinner time is more of a challenge all the time.

Work is good. COVID-19 sucks.

I read some good books, which you should creep all over on Goodreads. My goal was 35 books and I’ll finish with 36 completed reads. Solid.

We spent as much time as possible on or near water, most often a boat because we joined a boat share. Those 3 months here in Michigan are nothing short of magical.

The podcast made a comeback after the download devastation that was 2020. Podcasters – we miss those commuters! 😉 We had some fun topics and guests – everything from the co-developer of Intuitive Eating, Evelyn Tribole, to sex therapist, Jose Gonzales. We’re also now accepting Q&A questions for a show coming up in a few weeks – send those on over to us on our Instagram or comment here.

We added a Peloton Tread to our at-home workout set-up and I’ve got a 156 week (?) streak alive with Peloton. Their stock tanking is a mystery to me. I’m such a fan girl and OG of all things Peloton.

My drafted hockey teams won 2 of the 4 seasons this year. Not that I’m counting, or gloating or anything…!

As we enter into the longest quarter in the Midwest, I’m going to focus quarantine time and quiet weekends on decluttering and making our home a more organized place to be. I’ll be seeking out things to do with the kids and trying to keep sane.

We’re looking forward to 2022 and keeping healthy, starting with meals made at home. I always love to look back on the prior 12 months to pare down our favorite eats. So, here we are! I hope you find some favorites! {links to each recipe below each recipe photo}
